Everything You Need to Participate in Art Investment

Crestox is a curated fractional art investment platform. It connects artists, collectors, curators, and owners within a single regulated ecosystem — built around trust, transparency, and long-term value.

This page explains what you can do on Crestox.

Important Notice: Fractals represent fractional participation interests in curated artwork portfolios. They are not registered securities. Past performance of any artwork, fractal, or portfolio does not guarantee future results. All investment activity carries risk, including the possible loss of principal. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Please review our Risk Disclosure and Terms of Use before transacting.

What "Curated" Means

When Crestox describes itself as curated, this refers specifically to an editorial and compliance review process — not a subjective ranking of artistic merit. Curation means that listed artists and artworks have met the platform's submission requirements and passed internal review. It does not imply endorsement of an artwork's financial potential or future value.

2. Fractional Ownership

Purchase a fractional stake in a curated artwork — without buying the entire piece.

What Is a Fractal?

A fractal is a fractional participation unit representing your proportional interest in a specific approved artwork on the Crestox platform. When you purchase fractals, you acquire a defined part of that artwork's designated portfolio entry — not physical ownership of the artwork itself.

Fractals do not confer:

Fractals do represent:

How Fractionalization Works

Once an artwork is approved for listing, the Crestox platform divides it into a fixed number of fractals. The total number of fractals per artwork is set at the time of approval and does not change. Collectors purchase fractals during the primary listing period or through the secondary marketplace once primary supply is exhausted.

Features

Feature Description
Artwork Fractionalization Each approved artwork is divided into a set number of fractals at the time of listing.
Fractal Purchasing Buy one or more fractals in a single transaction through a straightforward purchase flow.
Ownership Certificates Receive a platform-issued digital certificate documenting your fractal holdings for each artwork.
Portfolio Tracking Monitor all your fractal holdings across multiple artworks in one place.

Risk Notice: The value of fractals may increase or decrease. Fractal pricing is influenced by platform marketplace activity and is not guaranteed to reflect or track the value of the underlying artwork in any particular art market. Crestox does not provide price guarantees, buyback commitments, or liquidity assurances.

3. Collector Dashboard

A centralised view of your holdings, performance, and activity.

The Collector Dashboard gives you full visibility into your portfolio at any time. All data displayed reflects your activity on the Crestox platform and is drawn directly from platform records.

Features

Feature Description
Holdings Overview See all fractals you currently hold, organised by artwork and artist.
Gain / Loss Tracking View the difference between your purchase price and current listed price for each fractal holding.
Portfolio Valuation See an aggregated estimated value of your total fractal holdings based on current marketplace pricing.
Watchlists Save artworks and artists you are monitoring, without committing to a purchase.
Resale Management Create, edit, and cancel resale listings for fractals you own, directly from your dashboard.

Disclaimer: Gain/loss figures and portfolio valuations displayed in the Collector Dashboard are estimates based on current marketplace listing prices. They do not represent realised gains or losses, guaranteed sale prices, or the appraised value of any artwork. These figures are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as financial advice or as a basis for tax reporting without independent verification.

4. Artist Dashboard

Manage your presence, submit artworks, and track your earnings on Crestox.

Crestox is built around artists. The Artist Dashboard gives verified artists full control over their listings, submission pipeline, and revenue activity.

Features

Feature Description
Portfolio Creation Build and maintain your public artist profile, including biography, portfolio images, exhibition history, and achievements.
Artwork Submissions Submit new artworks for review, including provenance documents, authentication records, and supporting metadata.
Artwork Management Edit listing details for approved works, track submission status, and manage active listings.
Sales Analytics View fractal sales activity across your listed artworks, including units sold and price history.
Earnings Tracking Monitor revenue earned from primary fractal sales and applicable secondary market royalties.

Earnings and Revenue Sharing

Artists earn from primary fractal sales at the time their artwork is listed and fractals are purchased by collectors. Where applicable, artists may also receive a royalty on secondary market transactions involving their listed artworks. The specific revenue-sharing structure, royalty rates, and payment terms applicable to your account are set out in the Artist Agreement you entered into at the time of registration. Crestox does not guarantee any level of sales volume, earnings, or royalty income.

Notice: All earnings are subject to applicable taxes in your jurisdiction. Crestox is not responsible for tax withholding, reporting, or compliance on behalf of artists. Please consult a qualified tax professional.

5. Secondary Marketplace

Resell your fractals or acquire additional holdings from other collectors.

After primary sales close, fractals can be traded between collectors through the Crestox Secondary Marketplace. This provides an internal venue for fractal holders who wish to exit their position, and for new collectors seeking to acquire fractals in artworks that are no longer available through primary listing.

Features

Feature Description
Resale Listings List your fractals for resale at a price you set, subject to platform minimum and maximum pricing rules.
Automated Matching When a buyer purchases fractals, the platform automatically sources available inventory from the lowest-priced active listings first.
Lowest-Price Sourcing Buyers always receive fractals at the best available price. If multiple listings exist at different prices, the lowest price is fulfilled first.
Artist Resale Royalties Where applicable, a portion of each secondary sale is automatically allocated to the original artist, in accordance with the terms of the relevant Artwork Agreement.

How Secondary Matching Works

When you initiate a fractal purchase, the platform checks all active resale listings for that artwork and fulfils your order beginning with the lowest available listing price. If a single listing does not cover your full purchase quantity, the platform will automatically source the remainder from the next lowest-priced listing. This process is fully automated and occurs at the time of transaction.

Liquidity Notice: The existence of a secondary marketplace does not guarantee liquidity. There is no assurance that a buyer will be available for your fractals at any given time, or that you will be able to sell at your listed price. Crestox does not operate as a broker-dealer and does not facilitate matched transactions through any regulated trading venue. Secondary market participation is subject to the Secondary Marketplace Terms.

6. Verification & Governance

Every profile, artwork, and record on Crestox is reviewed before it goes public.

Crestox operates a structured approval process across all major content types on the platform. This is central to how the platform maintains quality, reduces fraud risk, and builds long-term trust with collectors, artists, and the broader market.

Features

Feature Description
Artist Verification Artist accounts are reviewed and approved by Crestox administrators before public profiles are activated.
Artwork Approval Each artwork submission is reviewed for completeness, authenticity documentation, and metadata accuracy before it is listed.
Achievement Verification Awards, exhibitions, institutional recognition, and notable sales listed on artist profiles are individually reviewed before publication.
Admin Review Workflows A defined internal review process governs all submission, escalation, approval, and rejection decisions across the platform.

What Verification Covers

Crestox's verification process is designed to confirm that submitted information is consistent with documentation provided by the submitting party. It is not an independent appraisal, authentication guarantee, or legal certification of ownership or title. Verification means that the submission has been reviewed by the Crestox team and approved for publication in accordance with internal standards.

Important: Crestox's verification and approval processes do not constitute a guarantee of artwork authenticity, legal title, provenance, or investment quality. Collectors should conduct their own independent due diligence before purchasing fractals. Crestox is not liable for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in submitted materials that were not reasonably detectable during the review process.

7. AI Curator

Personalised artwork discovery, powered by AI.

The AI Curator is a discovery tool built into the Crestox platform. It analyses your stated interests, browsing behaviour, and portfolio composition to surface artworks, artists, and collections that may be relevant to you.

Features

Feature Description
AI-Powered Collection Generation The AI Curator assembles personalised collections of artworks based on your stated preferences and platform activity.
Interest-Based Discovery Tell the platform what you're interested in — medium, style, region, price range — and the AI Curator will surface relevant results.
Personalised Recommendations Receive ongoing artwork and artist recommendations as new listings are approved and your activity on the platform evolves.

AI Disclaimer: Recommendations generated by the AI Curator are produced by an automated system and are intended solely to assist discovery. They do not constitute financial advice, investment recommendations, or endorsements of any artwork's quality or investment potential. The AI Curator does not have access to your personal financial situation, risk tolerance, or investment objectives. All purchase decisions remain solely your own responsibility.

8. Analytics

Data and insights to help you understand your portfolio and the platform.

Crestox provides a range of data tools to give collectors and artists visibility into marketplace activity, fractal pricing history, and portfolio performance.

Features

Feature Description
Portfolio Valuation Graphs Visualise the estimated value of your fractal holdings over time, based on marketplace pricing data.
Fractal Price History View historical listing and transaction prices for fractals associated with a specific artwork.
Artwork Grading Insights Access the internal grade assigned to an artwork by the Crestox review team, along with the criteria used in the grading process.
Market Activity See aggregated data on platform-wide fractal sales, listing volumes, and marketplace trends.

How Grading Works

Each artwork approved for listing on Crestox is assigned an internal grade by the review team. This grade reflects a structured assessment of submitted documentation, provenance quality, artist record, and artwork condition information — as provided by the submitting party. Grades are assigned at the time of approval and are not updated dynamically. A higher grade does not imply a higher likelihood of value appreciation.

Data Disclaimer: All analytics, valuations, price histories, and market data displayed on Crestox are derived from internal platform records and reflect activity on the Crestox marketplace only. They do not reflect broader art market valuations, auction results, or independent appraisal data. This information is provided for transparency and informational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice, a solicitation to buy or sell, or a prediction of future performance. Past pricing activity on the platform is not indicative of future results.
